Water is a limited and precious resource that must be used wisely! We need water to survive, and we use it daily to make life more enjoyable -- in a cold drink, a hot bath, a cool pool, or to water our garden. But many of us waste water needlessly, assuming it will flow endlessly.

In June, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proclaimed a statewide drought and called on Californians to take immediate action to reduce water consumption of the remainder of 2008 and prepare for the potential of worse conditions next year.

Zone 7 is currently asking its customer’s to voluntarily cut back on water usage by 10%.

Zone 7’s Water Conservation Programs, include:

High Efficiency Toilet (HET) Rebate Program

You can apply for a rebate of up to $150 when you upgrade to a High-Efficiency toilet. You can find a list of qualifying toilets and an application on our website: www.zone7water.com.

High Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate

You can receive up to $200 rebate for purchasing a High Efficiency Washer (HEW). Zone 7 and your local retailer (ie. City of Pleasanton, Dublin San Ramon Service District, City of Livermore or Cal Water) have combined with Pacific Gas & Electric Company for the purchase of residential high-efficiency clothes washers. Public Outreach

Zone 7 is a co-sponsoring the 2008 Family Film Festival at Regal Hacienda Crossings 20 in Dublin. This nine-week summer program, from June 17 to August 13, offers free G- or PG-rated movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, with attendance at each showing averaging 800 children and adults. As a co-sponsor, some key Zone 7 materials promoting water conservation will be viewed by all summer movie-goers, not limited just to those attending the film festival.
